Kratom saves lives. I love it, and it needs to remain legal. I used to take it all the time- great for motivation, creativity, and a boost of energy- but I gave it up about 6 months ago because the D.E.A. keeps threatening to ban it. You don’t want to be hooked on it if the ban goes through- believe me, the withdrawals can be pretty damn bad for…[Read more]

    • I agree 100%, kratom should be kept legal as a safer alternative to other opiates…especially with the fentanyl crises abomination going on…

Hi I am new here. I’ve been using kratom on and off for quite a while. Looking to ween myself off of it somehow which is difficult because I have very little self control.

    • I also use kratom. My GF keeps it hidden from me so I can only use it during weekends…I also have a hard time having self-control when it comes to using
      substances…

    • What i did was wait till i had a few days off work and went cold turkey. Workout/ sleep off the withdrawal will get you through the worst parts. The biggest problem i had was constantly feeling uncomfortable for about a week afterwards. Dont keep any kratom in the house. As far as withdrawals go its extremely light but i also had trouble…[Read more]

    • I also take Kratom and used it to help me with opioid withdrawals…the biggest thing that helped me was to document my daily usage…every single time i dosed i would write down exactly how much i was taking and at what time…in my experience, Kratom is a really thing to just keep taking and taking until it feels like ur abusing it…once you…[Read more]

I would love to hear more information about Kratom. Advantages over opioids (aside from legality). Chance of overdose, does it still cause pinpoint pupils, slow reflexes, drowsiness, etc? Also what is the cost and how can you know which companies are selling the herb as a natural substance without other things being added?

    • It still causes pinpoint pupils, slow reflexes, drowsiness. It’s very difficult, if not impossible to overdose on Kratom. We’ve yet to hear of it happen, but I’m sure there can be cases that on one is aware of, everything is possible. Now if you mix Kratom with another drug, you can overdose – especially if it’s a downer. Cost is relatively cheap…[Read more]

Wondering, for my own curiosity, how many members here started using kratom to get off a drug, or for its pain relieving properties?

Does anybody know if it would work for a pot addiction (withdrawal symptoms)?

    • Kratom is for opiate withdrawal, I think using it for marijuana withdrawal would be counterproductive since the withdrawal from Kratom is typically worse than marijuana.

Chris Mccurdy has studied kratom for years. His studies show kratom to be an effective treatment for not just opioid withdrawals but also meth and cocaine.
